Application of MCCB

An electrical protection tool frequently used in industrial and commercial settings is the MCCB or Moulded Case Circuit Breaker. It offers security against electrical failures such as overloads, short circuits, etc.

Three different models of the MCCBs in the AMM1 series—the AMM1-125, AMM1-250, and AMM1-400—each with a different frame current rating are available. These devices feature an AC800V-rated insulation voltage and can be utilized in 3- or 4-pole arrangements. They have rated working voltages of either AC400V or AC690V and can function at voltages ranging from 40V to 400V.

The rated impulse withstand voltage and arcing distance of the Moulded Case Circuit Breaker AMM1 series are 8000V and 50mm, respectively. The L, M, and H grades of MCCBs are available, and the breaking capacities vary based on the type and quality. In contrast to the operating short-circuit breaking capacity, which ranges from 22 kA to 65 kA, the limit short-circuit breaking capacity is between 35 and 100 kA.

With ON and OFF operation timings stated in terms of the number of cycles, the AMM1 series of MCCBs’ operating characteristics are also presented. The AMM1-400 model’s ON operating time is 2000 cycles, the AMM1-125 model’s OFF operation time is 4000 cycles, and the AMM1-400 model’s ON operation time is 2000 cycles, while the AMM1-125 model’s OFF operation time is 6000 cycles. 5500 cycles for the AMM1-400 model to 10000 cycles for the AMM1-125 model make up the entire amount of cycles for the AMM1 series.
